TaskUs’s Wellness and Resiliency initiatives featured on PH’s Radyo5 program for Mental Health Awareness Month

Published on June 4, 2021

The Philippine outsourcing industry was not spared when the pandemic put nearly 4 billion people worldwide on lockdown. Everybody’s work has been shifted to online platforms which, naturally, also brought in new causes of anxiety and stress among employees.

TaskUs made sure that its mental wellness programs also followed employees in this shift to everything-virtual.

“Most of the companies in the Philippines put a heavy focus on their employees’ physical health; they’ve got HMO benefits and on-site clinics, among others. TaskUs also has those, but on top of that we also provide holistic wellness programs,” said Vina Paglicawan, TaskUs’s Director of Wellness & Resiliency, referring to some mental wellness initiatives for TaskUs employees. These programs include online Zumba, yoga, and meditation sessions, as well as holding private consultations with in-house and outsourced life coaches and mental health professionals.

TaskUs has been providing all these services even prior to the coronavirus pandemic, as mental wellness has always been part of the company’s values and culture. So when the lockdowns started, all TaskUs had to do was shift everything virtually while other companies were yet to start crafting their own mental wellness initiatives.

“We always believe in putting employees first. We take care of them and their mental wellness because if we are successful in lessening their worries, stresses, and anxieties, they become more resilient, agile, flexible, and focused on their work,” said Paglicawan. “When this happens, good work and good numbers in the business are achieved.”
