TaskUs Crushes Annual Volunteer Goal Through “TUgether We Serve” Program

Published on July 26, 2024

Today's workforce seeks purpose beyond just a paycheck. Companies with a strong social impact focus attract top talent and build loyal, engaged teams. According to a Deloitte study, purpose-oriented companies see “30% higher levels of innovation and 40% higher levels of workforce retention than their competitors.”

At TaskUs, our vision is to make a positive impact on the best brands in the world, the people we connect with and our global communities. Encouraging volunteerism is one of the ways we fulfill this purpose. We believe that when employees are active in their communities, they bring valuable perspectives and experiences back to the workplace.

“TaskUs has always been about giving back to the community. Beyond providing meaningful jobs, we show up for others through different activities and initiatives,” says Rhonda George, TaskUs Vice President for Global People Strategy.

In 2023, we launched the “TUgether We Serve” program as part of the company’s 15th anniversary celebration. It aims to empower TaskUs employees to volunteer at any organization they choose. They can also participate in any activity — community cleaning, animal rescue, social causes, inclusion initiatives, nature campaigns or community education.

TaskUs teams in the Philippines and Greece celebrated the company’s 15th anniversary through different CSR activities.

For 2024, TaskUs leaders set a company-wide goal to reach 10,000 volunteer hours across all locations. And in just six months, we’ve already logged over 13,500 hours from more than 3,000 volunteers.

“The program has inspired me and my friends to start rescuing cats,” shares Jean Parlade, TaskUs’ Division Vice President of Operations. Currently, she has 45 cats sheltered in her home. All of them are spayed or neutered and are vaccinated as soon as they are of age. “We also make it a habit to educate people on becoming a responsible furparent,” she added.

Michael Nowlin, a Facility Site Lead in San Antonio, Texas, also shares, “The overall vision has inspired me since I started in 2017 and continues to this day. It drives me to want to be a part of something special and provide support in the community.”

Volunteering also helps our teams gain a deeper understanding of the diverse needs and challenges of the communities we serve. It translates into a more empathetic and culturally aware workforce, better equipped to connect with a range of customers on a real, human level.
